Bio

Kenya Massey is a doctoral student in sociology.  She received her BA in psychology with cum laude from Chaminade University of Honolulu while simultaneously serving as a United States Marine. Kenya Massey served honorably in the Marine Corps from 2009-2013. She received her master of social work, specializing in mental health, from California State University, Fullerton. She has prior work experience in the state and federal sectors emphasizing mental health in disadvantaged communities. Her research interests broadly include, but are not limited to: veteran and servicemember mental health, health and mental health disparities in communities of color, race/ethnicity, policy analysis, quantitative research and big data analytics.
