Senior Capstone

The sociology senior capstone consists of a choice between three options: a professional internship, a capstone course, or an honors thesis if qualified (must have a 3.3 gpa or higher). 

Sociology 4940, Internship in Sociology. Please see MU Serves and click on internships to find a placement. The internship is a 150 hour or 10/week commitment. After you find a placement, apply here to enroll in 4940. Preferably fall semester of the senior year.

4000-level capstone course. 4000 level courses are research oriented; students engage in an in-depth project and present their findings to their class.

Sociology 4995. Honors thesis in sociology. Students with a GPA of 3.3 or above are eligible to do an honors thesis. This consists of two semesters of research, analysis and writing under the supervision of a faculty member and culminates in an article-length thesis and a public defense in the second semester.
